Sunday Soliloquy: Begin Your Harvest

As I sit here with a warm — well, hot — cup of coffee, I'm reflecting not just on this week but on the past few months.

When things in your life change, it brings a certain chaos. Your mind turns, and honestly, there's no real place to go emotionally or mentally. Your mind becomes like a cage, trapping you, and you're on a hamster wheel of different emotions. Not just negative ones. Sometimes positive, hopeful, even euphoric at times. But that level of polarity isn't real, and it isn't sustainable.

As the change beds in, you realise you need new habits, new ways of thinking, and new ways of being. To do that, you need to look back to gather the fuel to propel you forward.

As I prepare for the harvest festival at my son's school, I realise that's what I've been doing. And I need to do it more intentionally. I need to harvest my knowledge, my skills and my experiences to illuminate the path forward as we charge towards the end of 2026 and the start of 2027.

As professionals, we tend to focus on the cycles the business hands us: budgeting, performance, year-end. As a founder, that rhythm is mine to set, and it's the space I'm intentionally reclaiming. Because it is always hard to work on the business while you're working in the business.

So today I'm inviting you, encouraging you, to take action and begin your harvest. I'm sure you'll find some gems you've been burying.

What you may have been nurturing? That's a conversation for another day.

For now: harvest.
